I should mention that I've tried this with ESXi 6.7.
Add drivers to esxi 6 iso how to#
Most guides I have found on how to use the PowerCLI tool sepcifically describe how to incorporate drivers and VIBs that are different from what I need, and do not explain the process generally enough for me to understand how to apply it to a different driver.Īm I barking up the wrong tree pursuing this workaround? If not, does anyone know of a guide on how to customise installation images? Is a workaround even possible? If my approach will not work, does another exist? Please forgive my naivety as I do not have a background in IT nor previous experience using hypervisors or setting up servers. The post seems to describe how to fix this issue on an already up-and-running system.

According to an old forum post, this is the driver I need, but I have not found a guide on how to use PowerCLI to incorporate it. I believe I can use the PowerCLI tool to customise my live image by adding the driver. From the ESXi CLI I am able to determine that my hardware is 8086:0d4e - Ethernet Connection (10) I219-LM. Much troubleshooting later, I believe it's because the P340's NUC is not compatible with ESXi. I am trying to set up ESXi on a Lenovo Workstation p340 Tiny, and am greeted with a "No network adapters found" error message upon booting from my USB containing the live image. Hi, first-timer here with a question about incompatible hardware.
